Tania Thomas, B.A., M.Sc., CCC-SLP, Registered SK
I am a registered Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) with the Saskatchewan Association of Speech-Language Pathologists & Audiologists (SASLPA). I’m also a licensed member of the Speech-Language & Audiology Canada (SAC), providing Speech and Language Services in Regina. I received my Bachelor of Arts Degree majoring in Psychology and Linguistics through the University of Regina after that I received my Masters of Science Degree in Communication Disorders from Minot State University. As well I also maintain my Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) through the American Speech and Hearing Association (ASHA).
My 14+ years of work experience in both the school and health settings has afforded me the opportunity to work with a wide range of communication disorders with infants, toddlers, preschoolers, and school age children. Above all, I strongly believe in remaining current in recent research and techniques. Some of my additional training includes Hanen programs (It Takes Two to Talk, Learning Language and Loving It, ABC and Beyond), Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS), Make the Connection, and SOS Approach to Feeding – to name just a few.
Being a mother of two children, I know the importance of providing family-centered care and I am very passionate about this concept in my work and look to showcase this in providing Speech and Language Services in Regina. As a child’s communication is an integral part of how they connect with others and the world around them, similarly, I strive to provide client-centered care working towards BUILDING a child’s speech and language skills.
