We provide a multidisciplinary approach to these assessments which includes a Registered Doctoral Psychologist and Speech-Language Pathologist. Both of our team members each have over 20 years of experience and proficiency in the field of Autism Spectrum Disorder. We perform a comprehensive multidisciplinary evaluation for complete diagnosis using evidence-based tools which will ensure not only the accuracy of assessment results but also ensure access to funding as your child ages. Our team will also ensure you understand what the results of the assessment mean to your family and provide you with the next steps; including assistance with access to funding that may be available, access to community support programs, and we will work with you to facilitate treatment interventions that meet your child’s needs.
An initial consultation is how we start all of our psychological assessments. This is a parent-only consultation which allows you the opportunity to sit down with Dr. Loutzenhiser without your child present so you can freely discuss the concerns you have. Dr. Loutzenhiser will advise as to whether an assessment is warranted. Follow-up appointments will be scheduled to complete the process which will include interviews, questionnaires, and direct assessment and observation. Finally, a follow-up parent-only meeting is scheduled to discuss the results of the assessment as well
If your child has been diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder, there are speech and language services that may be helpful for you and your child. Speech & Language Builders can work with you to ensure your child receives interventions that meet your child’s changing needs and goals. We know that every child is different and this means they will require an individualized approach. It is, therefore, our intention, to tailor treatment to suit your child’s individual needs. We further believe in a family-centered approach by providing you with the strategies you need to help impact your child’s success!
The Saskatchewan government provides parents with individualized funding to purchase services that best suit their child’s individual needs. $8,000 is available annually for children under the age of six with an ASD diagnosis and $6,000 is available annually for children six to 11 with an ASD diagnosis.
